Futuristic "Camels"
Unlike the name would imply, these are
not true camels, but descendants of
deer. The feet however, resemble
those of modern camels. Some
species inhabit deserts, but most are
plains dwellers.
Chamelia
This creature resembles a very large,
humpless camel. It inhabits the plains and
feeds on the high branches of the trees.
They are social animals and seen in large
herds. Like most members of this family, they
are large and feed on a lot of leaves.
Oraglistro
A medium-sized species in the family, it
inhabits the mountains of the Afro-European
region. The feet assure the animal a good,
firm grip even on the smoothest rocky
surfaces. The coat is long and silky and
extremely thick and great protection against
the cold mountain breezes. The animal feeds
on small grass shoots and lichens that grow
on the cliff sides.
Neantilopa
The smallest members of the family. Though
they look leggy, they only stand about 3 feet
tall. It is this that benefits the animal. They
live on the plains and the small size and
speed helps to keep them from the jaws of
such typical predators like deinognathids.
Like their modern counterparts, antelopes,
these tiny animals are fast and agile.
Tripulliceros
One of the largest species in this family, about
as tall as a giraffe. This is a creature of the
plains, and feeds on the very tops of the trees.
Like giraffes, these animals have small,
clover-shaped horns on their head that sheds
once a year. The only predators of these huge
animals are the deinognathids.
