Pentadactyls
A family of otter-like lemurs. Despite the
name, this family actually derived from tree
shrews, instead of true lemurs.
Closely related to the earless sea
"monkeys", but this group has tiny ears and
larger flippers.
Scaly-footed Lemurs
Another group of lemurs that actually came
from the tree shrews of today. Most have
scaly foot pads.
This particular family of lemurs are
characterized by their horse-like manes on
the head. They actually derived from small,
slow-moving lemurs called lorises.
A group of primates that took to the oceans.
Basic form is like that of modern sea lions.

Clawed-Monkeys
A family of old-world monkeys
characterized by having claws on their
fingers and toes.
A group of lemurs that  evolved from the
Typical lemurs. Most of these are huge,
ground-dwelling grazers, all have spines
on their body of one kind or another.
A family of apes, which derived from
modern primates, distantly related to
the bushbabies.
A small group of tree-dwelling lemurs that
feed exclusively on the leaves and fruits of
certain trees. They are descended from the
Typical lemur family.
A family of monkeys that came from the
modern old-world monkey family, which
includes guenons and baboons.
A family that derived from tiny new-world
monkeys called marmosets and tamarins.
Dwarf Lemurs
Known today as Sifakas and Babakoots.
This is the second family of "true" lemurs
still existing in the Metazoic.
One of only 2 true lemur families left today.
These are still found on Madagascar, the
familiar lemur home today.
