Flying Mammals
These are closely related to the Pteropods,
with the exception that the wing design only
has one finger, instead of 4, making their
wings more streamlined.
This family of dog-like bats is even around
today. They are highly intelligent and have
evolved many different and unique forms
during the Metazoic.
Baleen Bats
Eyeless Bats
Closely related to the Pteropods. These
huge bats have baleen plates, like whales,
instead of teeth.
Descended from today's microchiropters,
the eyes have totally evolved off their
anatomy, giving these bats oversized ears.
Hand-Walkers
This family of bats, though descended from
true bats, totally lacks most of their wings.
Mostly the wings have been replaced by
arms and legs for walking, running and
hopping.
Close in relation to the cryptopters, these
bats walk around on their hands. They are
highly predatory animals.
Thick-headed Gliders
Gliding "Lemurs"
Branched off the same family as the gliding
"lemurs", but these tiny gliding mammals
have head dress of one sort or another.
This is a small group descended from the
modern dwarf lemur family. The ribs have
bony extensions covered by flesh that gives
these animals the ability to glide.
